CLIENT: Writing for Microsoft Unlocked is always a treat. These innovation stories are more creative than the average case study*, giving the writer (AKA ME) more room to flex their (AKA MY) left brain.

CHALLENGE: Write a story about how Microsoft ai has the potential to make art at the Rijksmuseum more accessible to low vision and blind patrons through better descriptions.

SOLUTION: Scour interviews from real people and pick quotes that make their personalities and interests shine. Write about the subtle details of an art piece that are lost in a limited description. Add impressive facts and figures.

RESULTS: Bryan Gaspart, Director of Strategic Brand Partnerships at Microsoft, said, “The depth of storytelling created one of our most successful campaigns to date.”

i wrote the written story and captions for the social media campaign (YOUTUBE, IG, SHORTS).

*I write technical case studies too. And I love doing it.

Art is more than something to be admired by the eye. It’s a powerful statement. A personal resistance. An emotional connection to the world around us. But for some, like Carin de Bruin who has Usher syndrome, a rare inherited disease that causes both hearing loss and blindness, art is often not accessible.
